This page tells you how Ampersand-us.ltd  ("Vista", "we", "us") handles your personal data when you visit this website or sign up to our waiting list. We are committed to protecting your privacy under both UK data protection law and, where applicable, US state privacy law including CCPA/CPRA.

1. Who we are

Ampersand-us.ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

Company name: Ampersand-us.ltd

Registered address: 16 Blackfriars Street, Manchester, M3 5BQ

Company number: 10874029

ICO registration: [ZB000000]

Email: contact@vista-ar-glasses.com

2. What personal data we collect

We only collect information that is necessary for the purposes described in section 3.

When you browse our website, we may collect usage data, including your IP address and browsing and clicking behaviour.

When you sign up to the waiting list, we will collect your email address.

You may choose not to provide your email address, in which case you will not be added to the waiting list. When we request your information, we will try to help you accurately understand and make decisions on these restrictions. If you need further information, please feel free to contact us at contact@vista-ar-glasses.com.

We do not collect any special category data (health, biometric, racial or ethnic origin, etc.) and we do not collect payment information on this site.

3. How we use your data

We process your personal data for specific purposes and process only the personal data relevant for achieving that purpose. We use collected personal data for the following purposes:

  1. To help you better understand our products and services.

  2. To improve and optimise the service experience and website performance based on your usage of our service.

  3. To administer a customer survey of your opinions on our products and services, after asking for your separate consent.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Legal basis for processing (UK)

Under UK GDPR Article 6, we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) as our lawful basis for processing.

We process email addresses and usage data to understand demand for our product and to improve the website experience. We do not use your email address to contact you. We have conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) and are satisfied that our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. You have the right to object to processing on this basis - see section 7.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with any third parties for commercial purposes. All survey responses and sign-up data are used internally only, to inform our product development, and are not shared with any outside organisation.

The only exception is Google Ads, which we use solely to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns (click-through and conversion rates). This involves Google receiving limited technical data such as anonymised identifiers and IP addresses to report on ad performance. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by Google's data processing terms. No personal information you submit (such as your email address or survey responses) is passed to Google.

Google Ads processes data in the US. Google operates under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), providing an appropriate level of protection for any personal data transferred outside the UK.

6. How long we keep your data

Email address: deleted 2 months from the date of collection. Our research purpose is time-limited and data is deleted once the study concludes.

Survey responses: retained in anonymised form for internal product research only. Responses are anonymised before use and no personal data is retained.

Technical and usage data (Google Ads): retained per Google Ads default retention settings for ad performance measurement.

7. Your rights under UK law

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request).

Right to rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to erasure: ask us to delete your personal data (the "right to be forgotten"), subject to certain exceptions.

Right to restrict processing: ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.

Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.

Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Right to complain: lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@vista-ar-glasses.com. We will respond within one calendar month.

8. Your rights under US law (California)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA grants you additional rights.

Right to Know: you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purpose for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared.

Right to Delete: you may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

Right to Correct: you may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: we do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CPRA.

Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

To submit a California privacy request, contact us at contact@vista-ar-glasses.com or by post at the address in section 1. We will verify your identity before processing the request and respond within 45 days (extendable by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary).

If you are a resident of another US state with applicable privacy law (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, etc.), many of the same rights apply. Please contact us and we will respond in accordance with the law applicable to your state.

9. How we protect your data

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. These include:

  • Encrypted transmission via HTTPS / TLS

  •  Access controls limiting who can access personal data

  • Use of reputable, compliant third-party processors with data processing agreements in place

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and affected individuals without undue delay, as required by law.
